"Whenever I begin work on a new book, I am reborn into a new world."

"James Alexander Thom is one of the finest historical novelist writing today....he cares passionately about getting it right, and has a gift for illuminating those forgotten but fascinating corners of the American past...."  ----John Sugden Author of Tecumseh, A Life

"He puts flesh and blood on forgotten names and breathes life into the stale past. He is probably, the most important author of American historic novels written today because he helps to interpret the distant past for the mind and interest of the modern reader."  -----Jack Weatherford Author of Indian Givers

Sign Talker, is a fictional account of George Drouillard, the french-Shawnee hunter and scout who led the Lewis and Clark expedition. "Anyone who thinks there's nothing left to be said about the Lewis and Clark expedition should read this book." ----John Sugdon Author of Tecumseh, A life

Warrior Woman: Now he and his wife, Dark Rain, have created a magnificent portrait of an astonishing woman  - one who led her people in war when she could not persuade them to make peace. Her name was Nonhelema, she was the Woman's Peace Chief of the Shawnee Nation.

Urgent Message from James Alexander Thom

A situation has arisen which jeopardizes my ability to continue writing for a living.

At recent Book Signings people have brought copies of  my latest book, St. Patrick's Battalion which was purchased on the internet.
Several of these books were Counterfeit.

This means my publisher Ballantine Div. of Random House did not print them, did not sell them to the internet source, and I get no royalties thus I can no longer live and make my living writing novels.

It is critical that I gain possession of 3 copies of these counterfeits so my publisher, agent, Author's Guild & attorneys can proceed discovering these thieves, prosecute them & protect my livelihood.

Identifying Markers on Counterfeits of
St. Patrick's Battalion:

Counterfeit- dust jacket art is reddish
Authentic- the dust jacket art is orangish

Counterfeit  Book is at least one inch shorter and narrower than the authentic book.

Every Publisher's Page has a line of number's in a sequence that diminishes. The last number of that line indicates the Print Run. This line is totally missing in the counterfeit book.

It is suspected that WARRIOR WOMAN was also
pirated/ counterfeit.

Please Send Your Counterfeit directly to me for an immediate replacement with an authentic book.

If you have any questions please contact me as soon as possible.

News Update: We finally got our own copy of the counterfeit  ST PATRICK'S BATTALION. It was purchase via the MILITARY HISTORY CLUB. They swore to me on the phone that they buy the books from Random House and sell only those copies.
